Naturalization and Citizenship
U.S. citizenship is the highest honor awarded by the U.S. Government and provides a person with all of the rights enjoyed by persons born in the U.S. (for example, the right to vote, the right to live or travel abroad without jeopardizing your right to return, etc.). Not surprisingly, the requirements for citizenship and naturalization are among the most stringent in the U.S. legal system.
Mooers Immigration assists clients with:
Naturalization
Lawful permanent residents (LPRs or Green Card holders) may apply for citizenship through naturalization 5 years after becoming an LPR, provided certain residency, physical presence, character and other requirements are met.
Naturalization through marriage
Lawful permanent residents who are married to U.S. citizens are eligible to apply for citizenship after three years of marriage, provided residency, physical presence and additional requirements are satisfied. Mooers Immigration has developed unique experience in the expedited Naturalization process for spouses of U.S. citizens sent abroad on behalf of their U.S.-based organizations.
Automatic U.S. citizenship
Children derive citizenship from their parents. U.S. citizen parents of foreign-born children must file certain documentation to record the citizenship of their children.
